Jair Oliveira Fort Lauderdale Concert reviews
Zac Brown Band awesome but opening acts terrible!
I was very excited to see Jair Oliveira live after a long time of waiting and was looking forward to this concert. Taking my kids with me on a school night, even though it was going to be late, was worth the experience. The main act didn't fail to impress. They were energetic, performed many of their popular songs along with a couple of my favorites that were lesser known, and some covers. Crowd interaction with those close to the stage looked great despite our seats being far back. It was a treat to have Dave Grohl join them as well, with his roots in grunge music making it a fantastic collaboration. I would definitely go see Jair Oliveira again.
However, the no name opening acts were a huge disappointment. Our tickets didn't list any openers, so I had no idea what to expect. The opening act was a nameless cover band that played older songs, which I enjoyed singing along to. Following them, Dugas, a band recording on the Southern Ground label, took the stage with music that didn't resonate well with the audience. Their performance seemed to drag on forever, and the crowd appeared uninterested.
After Dugas finally finished, we anticipated Jair Oliveira to come on stage quickly, assuming everything was set up behind the large curtain covering the main stage. We were mistaken. It took around 30 minutes for Jair Oliveira to appear, starting their performance at 9 PM, two hours after the concert was scheduled to begin. They played until 10:30.
Overall, if Dugas had been removed from the lineup, this concert would have been flawless.
